Elite Identification Program
In an effort to attract the best and most qualified Jewish athletes, Maccabi Canada has created a National Athlete Identification whereby Elite Jewish athletes will be identified and monitored well before the actual official tryouts for the Games.
The identification program is in its early infancy and does not encompass all sports at this time. Athletes will be identified through submission of their credentials and will be kept up to date by registering for the Maccabi electronic Newsletter.
In addition some of the sports will hold periodic training sessions where Maccabi Canada can have an early peak at potential athletes who will tryout and potentially compete for Canada in upcoming Games. The expectation is that these session will happen in primarily high density Jewish areas. Unfortunately not all athletes will be able to attend these sessions. That being said, as it is always the case, Maccabi Canada will hold national tryouts for the Games.
The first ID program has been established for the u16 2017 Maccabi boys soccer team.
