Maccabi Bridge Lesson Testimonials
Alan Packard has extensive experience teaching bridge at various levels.
To whom it may concern,
I have been taking bridge lessons with Alan Packard since November 2019.
I find that he has a good grasp of the game and is able to impart his knowledge well. He is also well organized, plans ahead and well prepared. He provides us with online quizzes and material to prepare for each class. Alan also has a pleasing personality and a good sense of humour. His lessons are casual and fun while being educational. He is always ready to be of assistance and makes himself easily available.
I find that I have learnt a lot from Alan over the last few months and will continue to seek his guidance for the foreseeable future. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.
To say Alan Packard is a good bridge teacher would be an understatement. He is an excellent teacher and coach who is patient, dedicated, and committed to making his lessons informative and fun. His style is, without question, student friendly and his personal interest in their learning is obvious in every class.
I have been taking bridge lessons from Alan Packard for two years now. I have found him to be an excellent teacher with a firm grasp of a prodigious amount of material and an ability to present it in a clear, simple, and precise way. He has taken care to foster a relaxed, non-threatening and respectful learning environment, and appears to have endless patience for those of us who have difficulty with this most complex of games. The structure of the lessons is nicely designed as well, with bidding rules and play of the hand strategies followed by practice. I can’t imagine anybody not benefiting from his instruction.

Re: Alan Packard
I have been playing bridge for the past 2 1/2 years. During this time, I have participated in numerous weekly classes both in person and, of necessity in the past few weeks, by live online sessions conducted by Alan Packard. He possesses very good teaching skills and imparts his knowledge in a measured and logical manner. His classes consist of quizzes, revision and lessons on various bridge topics, as well as supervision of hands played by the class. In addition, Alan makes himself available at any time to his class participants who have questions arising from bridge games they play.
Alan has played bridge for many decades and has a great deal of knowledge of the theory and play of the game. I am aware that Alan and his current playing partners regularly finish at or near the top of competitions in which they participate.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Alan as a bridge instructor/teacher both at the novice’s level and to players who are at a more advanced level.
Bridge is a game of strategy, rules and memory recall, Without Alan’s lessons I would not have been able to decipher the roadmap to better bridge play.
Alan Packard has been my bridge teacher for about the past year or so. He has immense patience and a good sense of humour!
Our lessons include some theory as well as practical playing. I would not hesitate to recommend Alan to anyone as a bridge instructor.
To Whom it May Concern
Alan Packard has been giving my group bridge lessons over the past couple of years. He is an excellent teacher in that he is always well prepared, provides clear explanations with supporting examples. He balances his lessons with conventions/concepts and then the playing out of example hands using the new concepts. He is very patient and spends time with us until each individual has grasped the material. He understands what we do not understand and explains it to meet our needs. Our lessons with him have been very enjoyable and we have learned a great deal.
