21st Maccabiah Games, July 2022 | Israel

 

Staff positions available for the 21st Maccabiah Games 

CHAPERONE

The goal of the chaperone is to assist the Head Coach and/or Team Manager in providing supervision and ensuring the smooth operation as well as safety and well-being of the junior delegation.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supervising junior athletes between the ages of 13 and 18. 
  • Each Chaperone will be assigned one specific junior team or a number of individual junior athletes. 
  • Responsible for escorting their team/athletes to training, competition, events, and incoordination with the Head Coach and/or Manager, will ensure athletes are on time for all
  • Support and participate in all social and cultural aspects of the Maccabiah Games.

Requirements:

  • Chaperones must be able to travel between July 6-26, 2022
  • All members of the delegation must be fully vaccinated by Covid-19, see policy HERE.
  • Staff cost is a one-time donation of $1600 to Maccabi Canada

COMMUNICATIONS

The goal of the Communications Team is to share the Maccabi Canada experience with all of our athletes and supporters – both in Israel and in Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide coverage of Team Canada’s progress and activities before the Games. This may include reporting on try-outs and training camps, taking pictures, researching potential and selected athletes and posting to social media.
  • During the Games a Communications team member will act as a “one-person” media team, attending Team Canada’s events, reporting on their achievements, taking pictures and posting to social media.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to drive in Israel.
  • Able to travel between July 11-26, 2022
  • All members of the delegation must be fully vaccinated by Covid-19, see policy HERE.
  • Staff cost is a one-time donation of $1600 to Maccabi Canada

TEAM PHYSICIAN

Maccabi Canada is looking for Team Physicians to join the core medical team for this summer's Maccabiah Games in Israel. The Canadian Team will consist of ~ 500 athletes in Junior, Open and Master's divisions participating in 17 sports across three different cities. The team will depart from Toronto on July 11, 2022, and return July 26, 2022.

Maccabi Canada is a CRA registered charitable organization. Participation in these games is self-funded by the athletes. Medical team participation is heavily subsidized but there is a required charitable donation of $1,600 in order to help defray some of the costs. A Charitable donation receipt will be provided.

If you have staff inquiries related to:

Staff for the Open and Masters age categories must be available to travel to Israel between July 12 and July 26, 2022*.  Staff for the Junior age category must be available to travel to Israel 5 before the games* and are required to participate in the Junior Delegation Maccabi Canada’s Azrieli Israel Experience program. All staff members must be available to participate in a training camp which will take place 2 to 3 days prior to departure.
*Travel dates and dates of the games are subject to change.

If selected as a staff member for the 21st Maccabiah Games, your only participation costs will be a one time donation of $1,600 to Maccabi Canada. You can choose to donate this amount yourself or fundraise the funds.  A tax receipt will be issued for this contribution.  In addition, you will be required to sign a Code of Conduct document in relation to the terms and conditions governing your participation in the Games.
