With Israel at war and facing the most horrific attack ever on its civilian population, every part of Israeli society is mobilizing to provide help however and wherever is needed. There has never been a more urgent need for support.
Communities around the world are looking for ways to help. So many organizations are doing what they can, and everyone is encouraged to participate to the best of their ability.
In the last 5 days, the Maccabi movement headquarters in Ramat Gan, known as Kfar Maccabiah, has turned into a refuge center providing a safe-haven for hundreds of Israelis who survived the savage attacks in the south and are now displaced.
In normal days the Kfar Maccabiah hotel and sports club, is the home of Maccabi World Union – the organizing committee for the Maccabiah Games. This week, the Kfar Maccabiah has housed more than 400 victims. Filled beyond capacity, the basketball court is being transformed into a shelter for overflow for another 200 people.
This is a costly undertaking that requires funding of $60,000 USD per day at a cost of $100 per person, per day.
