3rd Maccabiah 1950

This marks a significant turning point in Maccabiah history. This was the first Maccabiah hosted by the State of Israel, and the first time Canada had a delegation competing at the games. This Maccabiah was planned to take place in 1938 but was postponed due to the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939, putting an end to Maccabi activities in nearly all European countries.
